Crafty Rosies in Ypsilanti Township

The Original World War II Rosies of the American Rosie the Riveter Association’s Michigan Willow Run Chapter enjoyed a fun day outdoors and a picnic lunch while greeting the public at Ypsilanti Township’s second annual Rosie the Riveter Craft Show on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at North Bay Park. Crafters set up tables with their creations and the general public browsed the crafts. The Township named the Show in honor of its proud WWII and “Rosie” heritage, and encouraged crafters to embrace the Rosie the Riveter theme, which many did.

Our ARRA chapter joined in as special guests of the Township with a huge tent filled with almost a dozen WWII Original Rosies! The Rosies greeted the many fair-goers who wanted to meet them, and we sold Rosie themed soaps and bath bombs.

The weather was perfect and the Rosies and their Guardians enjoyed spending the day together outdoors. They chatted with many wonderful folks who thanked them for their service. We thought they might get tired, but most of the Rosies stayed all day!

Take a minute to see our photos of a perfectly “Rosie” summer day in beautiful Ypsilanti Township!
